SELANA Alpha is set to be the only RDW-approved and therefore legal E-scooter in the Netherlands. For our SELANA Alpha model, the RDW approval is expected in Q2 2025.

Electric scooters are not yet allowed to be used on public roads in the Netherlands. It is the full responsibility of the current users to ensure that the E-scooter is used according to national and local laws.

Currently there are no other manufacturers that are in the process to approving an E-scooter. Therefore the SELANA Alpha will be the only legal E-scooter once approved.

SELANA Alpha
After the RDW has approved this model, you may legally ride this model in the Netherlands. You must ride the eSTEP on the cycle path or on the far right side of the road if there is no cycle path. It is not permitted to ride the eSTEP on the sidewalk.

SELANA Omega
You may ride this eSTEP on private property in the Netherlands or abroad according to the traffic regulations.

You will be provided with a plug-in charger. The charging port is located behind the front turning lights.

The range is influenced by weather conditions, outside temperature, driving style, speed, rider weight, landscape, tire pressure and quality of the battery.

The LG battery is of high quality and the most expensive part of your E-scooter. Batteries generally do not like frost and it is advisable to keep your battery inside if you do not ride your E-scooter during periods of frost. If you do not use the battery for an extended period of time it is recommended to be charged at least once every two months.

If your E-scooter breaks down, you must contact us to have it fixed. If it is fixed with third party parts, it may not be legally ridden anymore and the warranty will be nullified.

You may return the E-scooter within 14 days of receipt of the product. The E-scooter must be returned in the state it was received in.

Yes, it is mandatory under Dutch law to insure your E-scooter. You will get an insurance plate that you can stick on the back of your E-scooter. We prepared a special space for it.
